The Herald Cup Semi Final
On the 16th of May the St. Marys B.N.S. competed in the Herald Cup Semi Final in hurling. The match was played in Cherryfield in Ballyboden as a neutral pitch. We left the school and drove to the pitch. We had a warm up and a team talk before we went onto the pitch. As we walked out into our positions we were feeling very nervous. The ball was thrown in and inside two minutes we had two goals. We were all fighting for every ball and it was a close first half. By half time we were up by 5 points.
We went into the second half with the same attitude. The score was close for a lot of the second half, but then we started edging away with the game. We were putting in more tackles and blocks than ever. When the final whistle blew everyone was screaming with joy. The crowd ran onto the pitch at the end as well. After the match we had lots of celebrations, Croke Park here we come.
The final takes place in Croke Park on Wednesday, June 6th at 12.20 against Hollypark.
