We went back in time in 3rd Class this week by making
string telephones. We used plastic cups, string and paper clips to make our own telephones. Our test was to see if sound could travel from one cup, through the string, to our partner with the second cup.
Some of the most important things we learned was that:
“Sound can travel in waves through string.” Seán Cleary
“This experiment works best when the string is tight.” Callum
“If the string is unravelled the sound can’t travel so the experiment might not work.” Peter
“You should never underestimate something basic.” Luke
“The sound goes through the string to your eardrums.” Cillian
“If the string is broken the sound can’t travel through it.” Jake
