Safer Internet Day 2026 was a huge hit at St. Mary’s B.N.S.
The day was built around three key elements:
-
A.I. Awareness: Teachers led interactive lessons using age-appropriate resources to help students navigate the world of artificial intelligence.
-
Photo Sharing: Through the “Going Viral” activity, students used calculators and paper to see how quickly a single photo can reach thousnds of people online.
-
Avatar Competition: Students designed digital or hand-drawn “Safer Internet Superheroes”.
The children’s artwork, now displayed in the halla, is truly impressive. It was wonderful to see the safety messages from their lessons—like being “Safe, Smart and in Control”—shining through their creative designs.
A special thank you goes to our Parents’ Association for their incredible support. Their generosity provided three €20 One-For-All vouchers for winners in every single class. These prizes were awarded at Tionól on Friday, February 13th, making for a very exciting end to the week.
