Raising Awareness About Homelessness

A group of second class boys have been working very hard on individual projects over the past six weeks.

As part of one of the projects one boy decided to research homelessness in Ireland.  He wrote to members of the government such as the Taoiseach and President asking why we couldn’t use the empty houses in Ireland for the homeless.

He also organised a charity event to raise money for The Peter McVerry Trust.  It was a brilliant evening which included a soccer tournament, bake sale and raffle, which rose over €500. Following this a member of the trust visited our school to inform us about the work of The Peter McVerry Trust.
