Principal’s Message 2020
I welcome our pupils back to school for the year 2020/21. A special welcome to our new Junior Infants and the new boys who have joined other classes.
Thursday 12th of March will live long in the memory of the young and the not so young. At 2.30 p.m. St. Mary’s closed its doors because of COVID-19. The rooms, hallways and corridors fell silent. The sounds of voices and laughter of our pupils was gone. Our pupils are the heartbeat of St. Mary’s.
The school reopened on August 28th with rejoicing from pupils, parents/guardians and school staff. We are all glad to have the school back in action as a centre of teaching and learning. I thank all the parents/guardians/teachers for your support to insure education happened during lockdown.
I commend the boys, parents/guardians and staff for your dedication in making your school a safe place to learn in.
I hope you all have a happy school year.
Ní neart go cur le chéile. Unity is strength.
Ar aghaidh linn le chéile. Onwards together.
