The Junior A hurlers have played three matches so far in the Division 1 league. We are still waiting for our first win but the boys have been improving brilliantly over the season and were very unlucky to go down to a good Knocklyon team in Cherryfield yesterday. The Mary’s boys led 1-2 to 0-0 at half time with the backs, Adam Edge, Tiernan Kennedy, Rory Malone and Timmy Doyle all hurling excellently. Goalkeeper Ciaran Murphy was in outstanding form and fine points from Ryan O’Neill and Matthew Norris backed up by a brilliant Michael Kennedy goal saw St. Mary’s lead. Unfortunately Knocklyon mounted a great comeback in the second half.
Next up for our Junior A’s is a game against Scoil San Treasa next Tuesday in St. Enda’s Park.
