The Junior Footballers had an undefeated league campaign. Here is a report from all our games.
In our first match we played Divine Word. It was in St Enda’s Park. It started at three o clock. We won after a tough match. Tom had a super game in the backline.
It was our second match and our second hardest. We were playing Scoil St Treasa. A very tough game. It started at 3 o’ clock again. In the end we came out on top after a hard game. Ben had a superb game in goals.
Our third match was against St. Colmcille’s in Cherryfield. We got off to a great start and put in an excellent performance. Joe came on and had a brilliant impact. We played St. Michael’s in our fourth game in the Hermitage. St Marys were winning by about 4 points at half time. St Michaels came back strongly, however we weathered the storm and got a couple of great scores. We won in the end. Seán put in a brilliant performance throughout.
Our final game was against Drimnagh Castle. We had to win this one. We started well and were ahead at half time. Drimnagh Castle came back but we replied with some great goals from Adam and Alan. We won the match and were league champions.
Thanks to Mr Casey and Mr Rooney for training us. We really enjoyed it.
