On Friday The 1st of December we had 72 boys from 3rd class to 6th class running in the Terenure Cross Country race. The boys have been training over the past week or 2 for the race. We had over 100 boys try out for it, but unfortunately we couldn’t bring everybody.
The boys from St. Mary’s did the school very proud. They were competing with 7 other local schools. The school brought home 22 medals in total across the 7 races we competed in.
However, Mr O’Riordan is a big advocate of the team in St. Mary’s, and the rest of our team didn’t let us down. As a result of the brilliant performance of everyone representing St. Mary’s, we came home with the overall Best Boys School Award.
A huge congratulations to everyone and also to Ms. Dunne and Mr. Rooney for their help. Next up will be the St. Enda’s cross country race in the new year.
