We have had a busy few weeks in 6th class. Last week we put a huge effort into PYPIA. We went on a journey through time,we drew dinosaurs, created ancient Egyptian mummies, recreated Roman mosaics, painted our version of the Sistine Chapel and made Viking Longships. As well as this a Woodturner came into the hall and showed us how to make figures and furniture using wood. On Friday we were very grateful that Steve Browning, an excellent local artist came in to class and taught us all about art history and the development of techniques. There are some pictures at the bottom.
This week is Seachtain na Gaeilge so we are trying our best to use extra Gaeilge in the classroom and at home. As the seanfhocail says ‘Is fearr Gaeilge briste ná Béarla cliste’. We are also busy preparing for our Service of Light next Tuesday, the 21st March, and our Confirmation on the 28th. Every boy needs to route out his baptismal candle for the Service of Light and let their sponsor know their duties for the Confirmation day as soon as they can.
